Those people who wear socks ‘n’ sandals will tell you it’s about the journey, man, not the destination. But sometimes you gotta look out the car window and ask WTF?
So, I’ve been quarantined for a week with Covid. Not many symptoms beyond a lack of taste (oh, food’s still good, it’s my choice of shirts), and a lack of judgement.
Evidence:

This little gem came out of nowhere today.
As usual, here are the plugs: the house model was made in B4Artists, the graphics were made in GIMP, and the video was assembled using Davinci Resolve. The music is from the YouTube Audio Library, and the sound effects from Freesound.org.
You’re a writer, you know how it goes. You, well, write stuff. A book, a promo, a newsletter.
In my case, I’m rewriting both of my published novels. My lovely wife is working on her SHRM testing, so I’ve lost my proofreader for content until the test.
But I’ve also hung out my voiceover shingle. And nobody is buying my books. And my whole marketing world seems to be stuck in a quagmire. A swamp. A vast, boggy thing.
So, instead of using my voice to market for other people, I figured, well, I should maybe be marketing my own stuff. Whee.
And so now we end up on this very strange road. Producing weird videos my wife doesn’t like, rewriting the website, and wondering how in heaven’s name did I get stuck on this journey?
It’s Covid-brain, that’s what it is. Nothing makes much sense: I mean, just look at that video!
